Stilboestrol (also known as diethylstilbestrol) is a type of nonsteroidal oestrogen. It is used for the treatment of urinary incontinence in dogs, prostate hypertrophy (enlargement), certain types of cancers, and reproductive conditions.Hormone responsive incontinence in dogs is common and most often seen in spayed bitches, particularly those spayed before 20 weeks of age.

Dosage :

ive by oral administration. 0.2 to 5 mg or as directed by a veterinary surgeon. Incontinence. 0.1 to 1 mg daily for three to five days, then 1 mg weekly or as required to maintain continence. The aim of treatment is to provide the lowest possible dose at the longest possible interval. A common course could be 0.1 to 0.3 mg/kg/day orally for seven to 10 days, followed by 1 mg/dog/week. Once a total cumulative dose of 20 mg is reached, therapy should be discontinued for a few months before restarting, to reduce the risk of side effects. In dogs with prostate cancer, doses of up to 1 mg/animal/day have been used for up to 25 weeks in one study, without remission being achieved, but without significant progression of the disease. For treating prostatic hyperplasia in dogs, a typical dose is 0.2 to 1 mg total for five days
